Email digest
The email digest is a recurring briefing on the state of your monitoring — not a firehose of individual alerts. It rolls up what happened since the last one into the same fixed structure every time, so recipients learn where to look:
- Status and headline — all good, worth watching, or action needed.
- The numbers — new issues in the window, open issues in total, how many were resolved.
- Priorities — the open issues that matter most, each with why it matters and a concrete next step.
- What changed — releases Monita observed in your stack, grouped by area: TMS, CMS, consent platform, site builds.
- Good news — issues that recovered on their own or were resolved in the window.
When a window is genuinely quiet — no new issues, nothing open, no changes — no email is sent at all.
Written per recipient
Section titled “Written per recipient”Each recipient can carry an optional one-line context — who they are and what they need to know, for example “Brian is a consultant who maintains the tag manager” or “Ericka leads compliance”. The digest is composed separately for each audience, prioritising what that reader cares about; recipients without a context line get the org-wide default briefing.
Enable it for your organisation
Section titled “Enable it for your organisation”An admin configures the digest in Organisation settings under Email digest agent:
- Toggle the digest on.
- Pick the cadence — daily, every 2 days, or weekly — and the send hour (UTC).
- Add recipients, each with an optional context line.
Cadence and send time are org-wide; the recipient list and context lines control who gets what.
Subscribe yourself
Section titled “Subscribe yourself”You don’t need an admin to join: on the Alerts page, your personal notification settings include a digest toggle and your own context line. Subscribing yourself adds you to the organisation’s recipient list (and creates the digest on first subscribe, at the daily default); unsubscribing removes only you.
Digest vs. alert emails
Section titled “Digest vs. alert emails”The digest is a summary, on a schedule. It doesn’t replace real-time delivery:
- Alert rules email their recipients the moment a rule fires.
- Your personal notification settings can also email you the moment Monita’s automatic detection opens an issue in a pillar you follow (volume, data accuracy, compliance).
Use those for “wake me up now”; use the digest for “keep me informed”.
