Microsoft Teams

Connect a team once and every alert rule can deliver to any of that team’s channels. Alerts arrive in Teams as Adaptive Cards posted by the Monita app — severity-coloured, with the vendor, URL, value protected and an Open button that deep-links to the issue in Issues. Recoveries post as replies in the same conversation as their alert.

Install the Monita app

The flow starts in Teams and finishes in Monita. You need someone who can add apps to the team, and a Monita admin to claim the connection (often the same person).

1. In Teams, go to Apps → Monita → Add to a team and pick the team you want alerts in.

2. The Monita bot posts a Connect to Monita card into the team. Click the button — it takes you to the Monita Integrations page.

   The connect link is single-use and expires after an hour. If it has expired, post any message to the Monita bot in Teams and it replies with a fresh card.

3. Sign in to Monita as an admin. The team is linked to your organisation automatically, and the Teams card on Integrations asks you to pick a channel.

4. Pick the default channel and click Use channel. Monita posts a confirmation message into the channel to prove delivery before activating.

5. Optionally click Sample alert on the connected row to post a realistic alert card and see exactly what your team will receive.

Note

The app must be added to a team. If you message the bot in a personal chat, it replies with instructions — there is no channel to deliver to in personal scope.

Route different alerts to different channels

The channel you pick at connect time is the team’s default. Any alert rule can override it: choose Teams as the channel type in the rule, pick the connected team, then pick any of its channels for that rule.

Recoveries

When the condition behind an alert clears, Monita posts the recovery card as a reply to the original alert’s conversation, so the alert and its all-clear read as one thread.

Fallback: Workflows webhook (no app install)

If you can’t install apps in your tenant, Monita can post the same Adaptive Cards through a Teams Workflows webhook instead:

1. In Teams, open the target channel’s menu → Workflows → choose Post to a channel when a webhook request is received and copy the workflow URL.

2. On the Integrations page, open the Teams card, click Or paste a Workflows webhook URL, and add the URL with a label.

The webhook path delivers the same cards but can’t thread recoveries under their alerts — each post is standalone.

Caution

Legacy webhook.office.com connector URLs were retired by Microsoft in May 2026 and no longer deliver. If you still have one configured, replace it with a Workflows URL or install the Monita app.

Disconnecting

Remove the integration from the Integrations page. Rules that targeted it stop delivering to Teams; their other channels are unaffected. Only Monita admins can add or remove integrations.
